Borussia Mönchengladbach's goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas has an active release clause in his contract, which can be activated by the top five teams in the Bundesliga. According to Sky Germany, the activation of the clause costs between 10 and 15 million euros. Premier League clubs, however, must pay 15 million euros. Aston Villa has expressed interest, after Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's future is up in the air. Nicolas kept 13 clean sheets in 34 Bundesliga games last season.
