Borussia Mönchengladbach responds to the injury of right-back Yukhym Konoplya (26) with a surprise transfer. The Bundesliga club has reached a complete agreement with Slavia Prague over the transfer of Daiki Hashioka (27). The 12-time national player will switch to the Niederrhein for a year on loan. Gladbach has secured an option to buy the player for the long term. Hashioka is expected to undergo a medical check on Thursday.
Hashioka's signing is a reaction to the prolonged absence of Yukhym Konoplya. The new player, who joined Shakhtar Donetsk at the beginning of the month, suffered a medial collateral ligament injury in his right knee last week. Currently, Fabio Chiarodia and Yukhym Konoplya are also injured.
Gladbach currently sits 12th in the Bundesliga and has scored 42 goals and conceded 53 in the season. The Foals are 51 points behind the league leaders Bayern München. Gladbach's next game is on September 5 against SV Elversberg.
