What happened?
Kilian Sauck was long considered a super talent in Gladbach. However, he failed to make the breakthrough in the professional team. Instead, other talents like Wael Mohya or Fritz Fleck overtook the creative player.
Why is the transfer important for Gladbach?
Gladbach's sports director Rouven Schröder explains the transfer: „Kilian is a talented player. Despite his talent, he was unable to make the leap into the professional sector with us and did not get beyond appearances for the U23 in the Regionalliga West. The move to Fortuna Düsseldorf is therefore a great opportunity for Kilian and a good solution for all parties involved.“
What's next for Kilian Sauck?
Kilian Sauck will wear the number 29 jersey at Fortuna. Sports director Sven Mislintat is now counting on Sauck to make a breakthrough in the professional sector with Fortuna instead of Gladbach: „With Kilian, we are gaining a very young offensive player with strong attributes and great development potential for us.“
