Borussia Mönchengladbach is in deep crisis following a dramatic 3:4 home defeat to newly-promoted SV Elversberg. The club sits bottom of the Bundesliga table with zero points and seven goals conceded after two matches.

Former Borussia captain Lars Stindl commented on his old club's disastrous start on Sunday in the "Sport1-Doppelpass" show. The current assistant coach of Germany's U20 national team called the situation "maximally unfortunate". He pointed to grave individual errors that are currently piling up. Seven goals conceded are simply too many, Stindl said according to Bild's report.
Stindl also addressed the drastic words of current captain Tim Kleindienst after the defeat. "That was drastic in the language and the manner in which he expressed himself," Stindl said. After an early opening goal from Hugo Bolin in the 11th minute, Elversberg equalized before Bolin scored again just before halftime. Joe Scally seemed to seal the result with a 3:1 in the 56th minute, as reported by Tagesschau.
But the visitors didn't give up. Maurice Krattenmacher (66th), Felix Keidel (80th) and Krattenmacher again in stoppage time turned the game around. Elversberg coach Vincent Wagner saw yellow-red after complaining about a wrong throw-in decision and watched the second half from the upper tier. For Gladbach, it was the second consecutive defeat that leaves them 18th in the table with a goal difference of 3:7.

According to Bild Sport, captain Tim Kleindienst initially headed straight to the dressing room with many teammates.
